In planning my retirement which will be in a few years, I looked into various options to create a nested income for that time. TSP was not making me the money in my TSP especially with the economy and market; I was losing money and the G-Fund was not producing. I contacted the Federal Employee Advocate representative, Ellie, she recognized the impact and stress that was going through my mind. She explained how to turn risk into situation opportunities. I worked hard for my retirement to take a hit in the market, however, I wanted a better interest rate than the G fund could deliver in TSP. Ellie shared her knowledge for the benefit of my retirement by taking the time and explaining the process and potential outcome with my investment. She displayed sound judgement in the process of investing in an annuity. The process was not difficult and she walked me through each step in the process. I would suggest that federal employees talk with her and learn their options.

I already had another annuity but wanted further protection for additional funds. The plan that Ellie shared with me looked great and far superior over what the TSP could offer. The rollover process was not difficult and was handled quickly and efficiently plus there is good support if I have questions in the future.

The rollover process was very new to me, but I knew I needed to change my current plan because I did not want to lose any more money in TSP. Working with Ellie has really been great. She is knowledgeable and extremely helpful and patient. Like many federal employees, I had challenges with my account after the revamping of the website which slowed the process down but now, I have protection and it’s a much better plan than I had with TSP. I would recommend Ellie’s assistance for a better funded retirement plan, guaranteed with no losses. It’s best to avoid those market losses, which can really impact one’s retirement.

Working with Ellie and Val was super. I transferred funds from my TSP and it was pretty painless. I thought that it might be like working with the federal government, which is rather painful. 🙂 As a federal employee, we’re not told much of anything in regards to retirement planning. So it feels like we’re thrown to the wolves. It’s refreshing to talk to someone who is knowledgeable. The whole process of transferring to my new annuity has been a pleasant surprise. Ellie was very helpful and fully answered all my questions about building a bullet proof retirement. I was impressed with the plan that she proposed as the hypothetical numbers were favorable, compared to what the TSP could do for me. After signing the transfer form, she and the insurance company initiated the transfer, the funds are in my new plan and I am so glad to have learned about a better option, where I can have growth and protection, together. Overall the process was easy and painless and Ellie was great to work with. As to the future of this annuity , only time will tell whether I made a good decision by purchasing it or not but that’s like any other investments.
